When Will Settlement Payments Come ?

Payments from the Facebook settlement will start in early March 2024. This is 90 days after the court approved the settlement in October 2023. You’ll get paid through the method you chose on your claim form, like PayPal, Venmo, prepaid Mastercard, Zelle, direct deposit, or a check mailed to you.

Who is Eligible for the Facebook Settlement ?

To get money from the Facebook settlement, you need to have used Facebook for at least 6 hours between May 24, 2007 and December 22, 2022, and lived in the U.S. during that time. You can still claim even if you don’t use Facebook now or have deleted your account.

How Much Will Each Person Get ?

Angeion, the group handling the Facebook settlement, thinks each person who qualifies will get about $30 on average. The exact amount depends on how long and how much you used Facebook.

People who used Facebook more and for a longer time will get more money. Everyone who qualifies will get some money. You can use a special calculator to see how much you might get. As of August 2023, about 17 million people have filed claims, but not all of them will qualify, so the final number of people getting paid might be less.

How to Fill Facebook Settlement Claim Form?

If you used Facebook in the U.S. between May 2007 and December 2022, you might get some money from a settlement. Here’s how to claim it:

  1. Go to Facebookuserprivacysettlement.com.
  2. Click on “Submit a Claim”.
  3. Fill in your name, email, and phone number.
  4. Say when you used Facebook between 2007 and 2022.
  5. Pick how you want to get paid – PayPal, check, etc.
  6. Submit the form and look for a confirmation email.

Make sure your info is correct to avoid problems with your claim. If your claim is denied at first, answer any follow-up questions quickly.

The deadline to claim is coming up, so it’s best to do it soon to make sure you get paid.

Checking Your Claim Status

You can check your Facebook settlement status on the website Facebookuserprivacysettlement.com. Enter your claim ID and other details to see if your claim is approved or denied.

By late 2023, about 50,000 claims were rejected, mostly because of missing information or possible fraud. If your claim is denied, you can appeal or give more information quickly.

It’s a good idea to check your claim status now and then before the payments start in March 2024. Also, check your email spam folder for any updates.

We hope this helps you understand the Facebook settlement. Many Facebook users will get checks, so make sure your claim is filed and valid.
